My Thoughts on The Listener: Episode 304: The Taking. Plus a sneak peek at Episode 5, Rogue’s Gallery.

The cast of The Listener

Welcome back The Listener fans.

This episode is a good example of never judge a book by it’s cover, or appearances may be deceiving.  Though, I’m going with the second one.

Abbassi Ayim (Eugene Clark), with his bodyguard Rafiq (Conrad Coates), meets Alvin Klein (Peter Stebbings) and a metro officer (David Gingrich) to discuss his son’s kidnapping.

We open up with a kidnapping of a son to a very important person.  Well one that you don’t want to cross to put it another way.  This is one man who have done the worse kind of things to other people.  Well maybe there’s others that may come to mind to you, but I don’t want to compare this character to a real person.  I’ll leave that to you to do.

It seems that Toby is moving away from his paramedic duties and concentrating on the crime aspect under the supervision of the IIB.  Now don’t get me wrong, it’s nice to see Toby using his telepathy to help Michelle and Dez, but I can’t help but think of Oz (Ennis Esmer).  As we see in this episode, he’s venturing into a different aspect of his career as well.  Wanting to be a supervisor.  That’s a big step for Oz.  Especially where he’s always joking around and loving the bar life.  This course is showing that he can be responsible and sort of grow up a bit.  I don’t mean that in a bad way, but for those of you who know the characters and have grew with them since season 1, then you all know what I mean.

I’m not that thrilled that they (meaning Toby and Oz) have kinda separated in a way. I loved them together.  I hope that future episodes will bring them back together again.  Those two together is what people love to see.  Well that’s my opinion anyway. 🙂

I love this picture.  Michelle and Toby makes a great team.  I’d love to have my own IIB badge like Toby has.  It would make for a great addition to any outfit. 🙂  Though again, I feel bad for Dez.  He does all the hardest work, tracking people down, ID-ing people, all the tech stuff with no thanks.  But I’m sure he’s appreciated.  Getting all caught up in all the action, sometimes the small things get over looked.   But us fans love ya Dez, 🙂

Gotta love this part of the show.  This is where Toby is helping track down someone who might know the whereabouts of the kidnapped young boy.  We see Toby use his telepathy, the part where he can read the thoughts of a person who’s close by.  But we also see a new power that Toby seems to be developing – seeing into the future.  Even if it’s just for a few seconds, but it makes one wonder if this will start to get more pronounced as the season progresses.  Maybe something we have to look forward too for a possible season 4??  *crosses fingers* One can hope. 🙂

You gotta love a girl with a gun.  Especially when she’s looking like this.  I believe that the addition of this character was a great addition to an already amazing cast.  Even though we don’t see much of Olivia (Mylene Dinh-Robic), but the scenes we do see her in, usually with Oz, are fun to watch.  I usually find myself chuckling at their conversations.  I hope to see more of that. 🙂

I know I’ve written this a tad different from the past ones, but I thought I’d try something other then the usual stuff.  Recapping what’s happened on a show is one thing, but I felt like trying to go another route.  I hope you enjoyed the read, and please feel free to make a comment below.  I love reading messages from you all.  🙂
